Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Aura Kingdom: Allure of the Past ("AKAP", "we", "us") collects when you use the game, the game client, your AKAP account or this website, aurakingdom.io, and what we do with it. Using AKAP means you accept what's described here. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.
This policy is written in English; if a translation ever differs, the English version is the one that applies.
1. What We Collect
- Your account: the username you pick, your email address, and your password, which we only ever keep in hashed form, never as plain text.
- Signing in: session tokens, when you last logged in, and whether you asked to stay signed in, so we can keep you logged in and your account safe.
- Your device and connection: your IP address, your browser's user-agent, a rough location worked out from your IP, and similar technical details that are recorded automatically while you use AKAP.
- The game: your characters, progress, what you do in game, how long you play, and the other records needed to run the game.
- Purchases: what you bought, how much it cost, the currency and whether it went through. Card details go straight to our payment providers; we never store them.
- Messages and linked accounts: anything you send to support, and the IDs of services you choose to connect, such as a Discord account.
2. How We Get It
You give us most of it yourself: when you sign up, log in, buy something, link another account or contact us. Some is collected automatically through cookies and similar tools while you use AKAP. The rest comes from companies that work for us, such as payment providers and security or hosting services.
3. This Website
- Analytics: aurakingdom.io uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so we can improve the site. Google receives your IP address and details about your browser and visit, under Google's own privacy policy. It loads only after the page has finished loading, and you can block it with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker without losing anything on the site.
- Your settings: the site remembers whether you turned the background music off, in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
- Delivery and security: the site is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles your connection to protect the site from attacks and to load pages faster.
4. Cookies
Your AKAP account uses only the cookies it needs to work, mainly a session cookie that proves you're logged in and keeps you signed in. Turning these off would break signing in. On aurakingdom.io, Google Analytics also sets its own cookies (named _ga) to tell visits apart; you can block them as described in section 3 and the site still works. We don't show third-party ads.
5. What We Use It For
- Creating and running your account and the game.
- Logging you in, keeping you logged in and keeping your account secure.
- Handling purchases and keeping records of them.
- Sending account emails, such as email checks, password resets, security alerts and receipts.
- Spotting and stopping fraud, cheating, abuse and anything else that breaks our Terms.
- Fixing technical problems, watching how AKAP performs and making it better.
- Meeting our legal duties and enforcing our agreements.
6. Our Legal Reasons
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: the agreement between us (to run AKAP for you and handle your purchases); our legitimate interests in keeping AKAP secure, running and improving it, and stopping abuse, as long as your rights don't outweigh them; your consent, where we ask for it, such as for linked accounts; and our legal obligations.
7. Who We Share It With
We never sell your personal information. We only share it when running AKAP requires it:
- Companies that work for us: payment providers, hosting, content delivery and security, email delivery and analytics. Each must treat your information in line with this policy.
- Services you connect: when you link an account, the information goes to that service because you asked for it.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we honestly believe the law, a court, a legal process or a government request requires it, or to protect AKAP, our players or the public.
- If AKAP changes hands: for example through a merger or a transfer of operations, under the terms of this policy.
8. How Long We Keep It
We keep your information while your account is open or as long as we need it to run AKAP. After that, we hold on to only what the law, disputes, abuse prevention or our agreements still call for. Temporary things like login sessions and email verification codes run out on their own. When we no longer need information, we take reasonable steps to delete it or make it anonymous.
9. Keeping It Safe
We protect your information with reasonable technical and practical measures: passwords are hashed, session and recovery tokens are stored only in hashed form, connections are encrypted, and access and request rates are limited. No system is completely secure, though, so we can't promise perfect security. Keeping your own login details private is up to you.
10. Storage in Other Countries
AKAP and the companies that help us may store and process information outside the country you live in, where privacy laws may be different. Where the law requires it, we make sure those transfers are properly protected.
11. Children
AKAP isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child below the minimum age has given us personal information, contact us and we'll take care of it, including deleting it.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to see, correct, update or delete your information, limit or object to how we use it, take a copy of it with you, and withdraw consent you gave earlier. You can change some account details yourself in the Account Center, or contact us for the rest, and we'll respond as the law requires. You can also complain to the data-protection authority where you live.
California residents may have extra rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act: to know what kinds of personal information we collect, to ask us to delete it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We don't sell personal information, as the law defines it.
13. Other Websites and Services
AKAP links to and works with websites and services run by others. This policy doesn't cover them, and we aren't responsible for how they handle your data, so check their privacy policies before giving them your information.
14. Changes to This Policy
We can revise this policy now and then. A new version applies from the moment it's posted unless it says otherwise, and the "Last updated" date above shows the latest change. Where the law requires it, we'll give extra notice of major changes. If you keep using AKAP after a change, you accept the updated policy.
15. Contact
