Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms cover Aura Kingdom: Allure of the Past ("AKAP", "we", "us"): the game, the game client, your AKAP account and this website, aurakingdom.io. By creating an account, downloading the client or playing, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use AKAP.
AKAP is a community project and is not affiliated with the original publisher of Aura Kingdom. These terms are written in English; if a translation ever differs, the English version is the one that applies.
1. Who Can Play
- You must be an adult where you live, or at least 13 years old with permission from a parent or guardian, who then accepts these terms for you.
- AKAP isn't meant for, and may not be used by, anyone under 13.
- You must be legally able to agree to these terms.
2. Your Account
- Give true, complete details when you sign up, and keep them up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your login safe and for everything done with your account, whether you did it or not.
- Your account is yours alone: don't share, sell, lend, rent or hand it to anyone else.
- Tell us straight away if someone else uses your account or you notice a security problem. We aren't responsible for losses caused by a login you didn't keep safe.
- We may refuse a sign-up, take back a username, or suspend or close an account at our discretion.
3. Playing AKAP
We give you a personal, limited permission to use AKAP for your own fun, not for business. You can't pass it on or sublicense it, and we can take it back. It ends automatically if you break these terms or your account is closed. Anything we don't expressly allow stays reserved.
AKAP is run by a community team on a best-effort basis. We can't promise it will be online at any given time, run without interruption, or that any world, character, item or balance setting will stay the same. We may change, pause, reset, wipe, move or shut down any part of AKAP, including accounts, characters, items, balances and other data, at any time and without notice, and we won't owe you or anyone else anything if we do.
4. Rules of Conduct
You agree not to do, or try to do, any of the following:
- Cheat, abuse bugs, or use bots, macros, scripts, memory editors, packet tools or any other software or trick that gives an unfair advantage or interferes with how the game is meant to work.
- Buy or sell accounts, characters, currency or items for real money, except through channels we have approved.
- Harass, threaten, insult, stalk or impersonate other players or staff, or post anything illegal, hateful, obscene or otherwise offensive.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape or data-mine AKAP, or try to work out its source code, except where the law gives you that right.
- Probe, scan, overload or attack our systems, or get around any security, login or rate limit.
- Use AKAP for anything illegal.
Breaking these rules can get your account suspended or closed for good, with its items and balances removed. Serious cases may be reported to the authorities.
5. In-Game Currency and Items
In-game currency, items, characters, cosmetics, progress and other virtual goods ("virtual items") are licensed to you, not sold. They have no real-world value, aren't money or property, can't be exchanged for cash or anything of value, and you don't own them.
We may manage, change, rebalance, replace, remove or devalue virtual items whenever we choose, with or without warning, and we don't have to compensate you. Virtual items can't be transferred unless we allow it, and your access to them ends when your account or AKAP closes.
6. Purchases
- Some virtual items can be bought. Payments are handled by third-party payment providers under their own terms and privacy policies; we never collect or keep your full card number.
- When you buy something, you confirm you're allowed to use the payment method and you accept the charge, including any taxes and fees.
- Prices, packages and what's on offer can change at any time. Any taxes or duties on your purchase are yours to pay.
- If you start a chargeback or payment dispute in bad faith, we may suspend or close your account and remove the items involved.
7. Refunds
All purchases are final. Virtual items are added to your account straight away and count as used once added, so they can't be refunded, unless the law where you live gives you a refund right that can't be waived. Where the law gives you a cooling-off or withdrawal right, you ask for delivery to start immediately and accept that the right may end once it has.
8. What You Post
You're responsible for what you share in AKAP, such as character names, chat and other messages. You let us host, store, copy, show and use it, anywhere in the world, without payment and for good, to run, moderate and improve AKAP, and we may pass that permission on to others who help us. We may watch, edit or remove anything you post, but we don't have to.
9. Our Work and Other Services
- The software, code, designs, settings and original material we create for AKAP belong to us or to those who license them to us, and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond the permission in section 3, and you need our written permission to use our names, logos or marks.
- AKAP uses and links to other services, such as payment providers, hosting, content delivery and security services, email delivery and community platforms like Discord. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices; what happens between you and them is covered by their own terms.
10. Suspension and Closing Accounts
We may limit, suspend or close your access to all or part of AKAP at any time, for any reason or none, with or without notice, including if we believe you've broken these terms. When your access ends, so does your permission to play, and you can't recover your account, characters, items, balances or data. The parts of these terms about virtual items, ownership, our lack of guarantees, the limits on our liability, your responsibility to us and the law that applies keep applying afterwards.
11. No Guarantees
We offer AKAP "as is" and "as available", faults included. As far as the law allows, we make no promises of any kind, stated or implied, including about quality, fitness for a particular purpose, ownership or non-infringement. We don't promise that AKAP will be uninterrupted, secure, free of errors or free of data loss.
12. Limits on Our Liability
As far as the law allows, neither we nor our team, volunteers or contributors are liable for damages that are indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive, or for losing profits, data, goodwill, virtual items or anything else intangible because of AKAP, however the claim arises and even if we were told it could happen. Our total liability for any claim connected with AKAP is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it arose, or US$10, whichever is higher.
13. Your Responsibility to Us
If your use of AKAP, what you post, or your breaking these terms or someone else's rights leads to a claim against us, you agree to defend us, our team and our contributors, and to pay for the resulting claims, damages, losses and costs, reasonable legal fees included.
14. Disputes
These terms follow the laws of the place AKAP is mainly run from, without applying rules that would point to another country's law. If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out informally. If we can't, the dispute goes to the courts of that place, unless mandatory law where you live lets you bring it to your local courts.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time by posting the new version here. It applies from the moment it's posted unless it says otherwise, and where the law requires it we'll give reasonable notice of major changes. If you keep using AKAP after a change, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree with them, stop using AKAP.
16. Everything Else
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about AKAP and replace anything agreed before. If any part can't be enforced, it's limited only as much as needed and the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer these terms without our written permission; we may transfer them freely. Headings are only there to make the terms easier to read.
